During 1600s in Mughal Dynasty, when a lavish feast was hosted by royalties in Mughal Era, alcoholic and other beverages were served in these kinds of pots, widely known as “Surahi.” The body of this Surahi was beautifully casted and sculpted by the artist where in the middle of this Surahi, Islamic Imprints can be seen calling to their god, “Allah” surrounded by a beautiful ring of flowers followed by complex vine patterns which can also be seen running across the handle and the spout of the pot.
Surahi is one of the rare artefacts when looking to give an ethnic and royal touch to a home, which gained their popularity from North India hen used as a décor piece.
