Though originally planned as small sized mats or commonly called Dozars, fine full-sized carpets were woven and stitched occasionally.

Popularized by the master weaver Maqsud, Kashan area developed a unique style of intricately stitched designs manifesting the dexterity of handloom weavers. Medallion at the center were the common go to designs for full carpets.
